Do you treat people with facial hair with more suspicion than those who are clean shaven ?

You can always tell when Linford's been taking a metaphorical kicking - he starts posting irrelevant cafe threads in Politics and Life. Simoncc's question about handshaking in the Cafe is more political than this....

Taking the biscuit
I let my moustache and beard grow before Christmas and have found myself no more trustworthy than when my face was bald.

I've never had a beard before and I'm amazed how warm they keep your face! Grow one and save buying a CC Buff!
Try one, they're brill! Honest.

You know why you get a kinda odd vibe about people with beards? It's the aura of smuggness they generate from knowing they have a nice warm face and you don't.

The philosopher Schopenhauer said that beards were a form of disguise and should be suppressed by the police.

But, then again, Schopenhauer was a bit of a misery. He kicked his landlady downstairs when she asked for the rent. She took him to court, and won compensation which he had to pay for the rest of her life. When she died he wrote in his notebook 'the debt is discharged'.

Like hell I have, but I've had to wade through MrPs ramblings for over an hour to offer an answer to all his offbeat assertions. All I can say is that his workload must be substantially lower than mine - but then he does work for the public sector so it's not really surprising is it ;)

Itches like buggery after about a fortnight. My missus reckons that they end up smelling all sour when the food and drink gets trapped as her dad had one for years ;)

I voted no, but there is really no excuse for facial hair, moustaches especially, unless you are stranded on a desert island like Robinson Crusoe.

I wince when I think of grown men preening themselves in front of a mirror, carefully shaping and perfecting their choice of beard or moustache.

talking of Schopenhauer (who famously asserted that existence was a mistake.....)

strange. I never, if ever, think of men preening, shaping and perfecting their choice of beard or moustache. Time for a sig line change...

You don't stand a chance of working in IT then... even if you apply for those TV ads when you get sacked.

A well honed goattee, combat trousers, ear piercing and slogan t-shirt are prerequisites for making **** loads of cash.

Have you even the soul to care about your appearance for the sake of everyone?

Beards and moustaches are evidence of femininity in a man. They are worn by men who fuss about their appearance in the way that women do.

It doesn't occur to most men to have either.

Bollox. Beards and moustaches are evidence of *masculinity* in a woman.

Anyway, I'm too clever for you and must to bed. Safe in the knowledge that I've left a discombobulated alan bennet lookalike adrift in a sea of mediocrity.
