good that you got the bearings sorted - it's an easy job once the cassette is off and you have some cone spanners.

The clicking is probably the gears that need some fine tuning. If all seems well, check the pedal bearings.

It was actually a problem with the rear bearings again. Took it apart again - there was some very mild corrosion in the bearing track on the freewheel hub side. Removed that, applied a load more grease and then even more grease, then put everything back together again. No problems this time. Whether it was the corrosion that was causing the problem OR the fact I didn't use enough grease the 1st time I don't know. Will just remember to use plenty in the future.

Just need some dry weather now. After all that work I don't want to take the bike out in the rain, at least for it's 1st ride!!
