Ties in what I alluded to a while back.
'The website was the description used to sell the car, and so the website formed part of the contract - very clear breach of contract. From Telsa's POV, I am the worst type of litigator to take on. I am not a lawyer, but deal with them quite often in my day job so I know enough to put in a small claims action with confidence.'

Ah, yes, seems the Telegraph simply used that old story as if it was new.

Some media items are several years old. In fact the Mail just very recent, re-ran a Carlton Reid cycle holiday story from 2004 as if it was brand new.

There's an important lesson there.

News like fashion goes in cycles
My only guess on that one is that someone at the Mail was doing a favour for the travel company involved, assuming it was still solvent.
Trivia, Reids podcast 'Spokemen' has been running since 2006 so should be the oldest cycling podcast in the UK, maybe the world.

'Yorkshire Coast gravel' was listenable.

That is the one thing that scares me about electric cars. That in 5 years time the only place I will be able to recharge it is at home.

Of course we had multiple socket options for mobile phones and computers, until it all finally settled on USB. Then USB micro. Then USB-C....

There are three main connector types for supercharging CCS, NACS and Chademo.

Chademo is Nissan's standard, which will drop off rapidly as Nissan has gone CCS for its latest cars-however there are now Chademo-CCS adaptors being made.. I will get one of these for our Nissan

Home Charging is predominantly type 2, well across Europe/Asia. USA will most likely move solely to NACS for both home and supercharging. Again for older vehicles, adaptors will be available.

You can see from the image in this page. Chademo (J1772) left, NACS (Tesla charger) centre, Type 2, right. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_American_Charging_Standard

CCS is a combination of type 2 with two extra pins below

It's always a negative slant in the articles.

Businessman Aled Jones travels from Bangor to his office in Caernarfon every day in an all-electric car.

But a lack of chargers in the town means he has to make sure he keeps topped up from home.

Something like 98% of EV charging is done at home(ours is). It's the norm, it caters for 98% of daily journeys which for 95% of all vehicle journeys per day are less than 35 miles.

So Caernarfon has been shite at embracing EVs. Stop whining, get your shoot together and connect the chargers to the grid :okay:

How does the average EV driver react when they get to a public charger.,,to find a point is blocked by an EV...not on charge.
I see it occasionally at our local shopping centre, I'm not really surprised, we live in remarkably selfish, self centred times.
DPD EV van the last time. I might start taking photos....

Not experienced it personally. I've had to queue once for a few minutes, but no more than that. Long distance driving is quite a rare occurrence for us, usually a full charge will see us there and back or overnight charge stop.

By far, most EV drivers understand and appreciate the need to clear a bay once charge is complete.

I used to live in Bangor - it is only a few miles from Caernarfon - don;t think he will exactly need a2 0 minute session on a fast charger to make it to work and back!!!!

Although according to ZapMap the town is pretty devoid of chargers - one at Morrisons and one at a pub!

Some supermarkets are setting out their carparks so that electric vehicles are in the same area. Whether charging or not.

2.5 years of EV ownership in and not seen that. But charging away from home is incredibly rare for us.

I did see an EV blocking a petrol pump once as they went in to do some shopping...

One of swmbo's relatives popped in yesterday as you do every Christmas.
He works for a vehicle manufacturer and he was saying that they are struggling with ev sales as they can't get batteries and the trays for them from a UK producer so the manufacturer is struggling to meet the % target of UK sourced content in the car's so they face a fine from someone.
Then when asked about what his thoughts were about ev's as he has used them for 18 months and he thinks the UK is nowhere near ready for them yet based on his experience and that hydrogen is the better long term answer but again a real lack of infrastructure so he has opted for a hybrid .
