Are you using the newer Chromecast dongle, the round one, or the older rectangular one?
Mine is the round one with cast firmware version 1.22.79313

I can't keep track of all the different threads I am in and inevitably end up repeating myself. ***

For simple folk all this is confusing as hell. I'm about to dump Sky, had enough of their price hikes and zillions of channels that I never watch. However I do use Eurosport. Weighing up my options as unfortunately our broadband is slow and at the moment we have no availability to upgrade to fibre as there is no space in the BT box (small rural village).
I know telly wasn't great years ago when we had 4 or 5 channels but now I'm feeling overwhelmed with technology or lack of it. Now TV, Amazon, Virgin, BT, Codi ?
Oh for a simple life.

I just tried to load the Eurosport Player app on my old Galaxy Tab. It has been working just fine until this week ...

"A new version of the Eurosport Player app is available ... Download."

Oh, ok then - CLICK ... Google Play pops up. And ... "This app is not compatible with your device."

Ok, I'll stick with the old app then ...

"A new version of the Eurosport Player app is available ... Download."

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh! :banghead:

So, I got my new laptop out and started watching on that. I went to the Videos section and was immediately confronted by spoilers telling me the results of all the races that I wanted to watch.

Absolutely bloody fantastic ... So now I am enjoying the excitement of seeing how xxxx won Strade Bianche rather than the boredom of having to wait to find out! :cursing:

Update:

I dropped my phone last week and broke it. The replacement phone has Android 6 ('Marshmallow') and the EP app seems to be working very well on it. The picture quality looks a LOT better than it did on my tablet, before that was nobbled by a recent app update and stopped working. Maybe the update is responsible for that improvement?

It's a relief because the picture quality on my Windows laptop was very variable last week. Videos of Paris-Nice and Tirreno-Adriatico have been output in 400(-odd) p mode and looked dire

When I installed the app on the phone earlier this evening, I finally saw the elusive 'cast' icon. I can't find it now so I will investigate further once I have recharged the phone's battery.

Anyway ... it looks promising. (Those spoilers are still annoying me though. I try to concentrate on operating the Player without seeing the race result but it is difficult when the caption text is screaming it at you and there is a photo of the winning rider crossing the finish line, hands held high!)

Latest update: I have set my new phone up so that I can do a 3-finger upward swipe and bring up a menu which lets me share the phone's display on my TV. The picture quality is very good. It isn't perfect - there is a bit too much compression which blurs foliage on trees and bushes, and details of the road surface (cobbles etc.) but it is clean and bright. If it it stays like this, I will be very happy with it.

Eurosport still seem to be a bit erratic about what makes it into their Video section. Amstel Gold didn't so I will have to catch that when they 'rebroadcast' it.
