my only preference towards the additional side grips was that it extended the palm area giving that gap, which the GP3's don't. Luckily when I was making up my mind, the bike shop simply fitted one set to one side of my bike and the other to the other and I was able to try both together - my mind was made up instantly. The extended area, for longer times in the saddle was invaluable for both myself and my OH.After I was awake all night thinking about this thread I'm at this point.
Padded grips 100%.
Bar levers GP 3 size 50% or SJS/ Giant Contact Ergo size 50%
PS.. My wife thinks I worry too much about such thingslittle does she know..
PS - I can think of worse things to worry about at night....![]()
Ideal scenario for you Paul would be to try them all in a shop before you buy if at all possible. The gp3s packaging is such that you could only try one off the grips as you have to destroy the package to get at the other.
Even trying one for size and feel allows you to return if you don't like what you see. Like i say though, the shop route is the best option ideally.
One thing i forgot to add is i wasn't sure when i got them which side was the right way 'up' so i guess they can be used either way. One side is convex and one is concave. Maybe you should fly over to the north west and try mine and satnavs bikes ha ha.
I just got rid of my stock bontragers on my trek. Had to cut them off otherwise you could have had them.
