Does this fit your spec? £800 under budget

You'd need to check with them on the tyre front

Cyclocross bikes are not 'endurance' bikes though. A pukka CX bike will have very sharp handling and a low front end - possibly the exact opposite of what the OP wants. It probably could be made to fit, but it won't be the best starting point.

Pukka crossers are indeed 'heads down', but I think you could include many of the commuter/crossers like the Cannondale CAADX in that 'gravel/adventure/endurogrind/whatever' bracket as they're much more 'heads up' with the usual fittings for guards/racks and bottle cages.

Just been out exercising my hip (DHS) and I have reached a conclusion that a dirt/gravel bike would give me the tyre clearance I need even if I don't use it all, so thanks for all your help this morning its been really good stuff and thanks to those that put links on as well.. But now will make a short list of dirt/gravel bikes.
Ta.. :okay:

Look for gravel bikes, loads of those take 32mm tyres.

Also worth considering mudguard and rack eyelets on such a useful style of bike and if you do, pick a rear disk mounted on the chainstay for easier rack fitting.
