ive been cycling for about 2 month to work ( its only 2 mile, all uphill) but the first few times i thought i was going to collapse going to work, the only reason i started cycling to work because i was in the middle of buying a new car, i forgot how much i enjoyed cycling so ive started cycling every day although im getting bored of the same journey and im tempted to go out on a weekend somewhere.

hi, 46 year old female , i decided to change some stuff in my life! i quit smoking , 3 months ago i was doing nearly 40 a day and it is bloody hard bt it can be done, your local drs should be able to help theres loadsa different aids to help you quit, i am awaiting impatiently my new bike, then i shall lose some weight, i know as i used to ride to work and back and was in a better shape then, that was 2 years ago. dyed my hair red as a danger sign , just to let everyone know i'm changing everything lol,,wish i could help with the rest ;)
I am new back to this game.

I am 46 having last ridden in my teens.

I smoke (although I'm trying to quit - it's tough to do and I know all you non-smokers will poo poo it but it is really tough)

I am 46, 13 1/2st , 5ft 9" and my waist has grown to a 34"+ from its former 30-32" of about 10 years ago....

I have turned to cycling to incentivise me to quit the fags, get back to 12st and back into my old jeans....oh and now my marriage is over I'm hoping a leaner me will get laid more easily.

Thanks for your encouragement.

I don't think (m)any will poo poo it.

I smoked for about 25 years until 3 years ago. Best thing I ever did was to stop. I put on some weight when I stopped, so started cycling to help loose the weight.

My first bike ride in 20 years was 1 mile, and nearly killed me. These days I cycle between 300 and 400 miles a month, and really, really miss it on the (very few) days I don't cycle to work.
