No Prince Charming on this occasion sadly. Although the Pashley does tend to bring out chivalry in fellas though - yesterday a lovely guy lifted it off the train for me.

I don't let anyone touch my bikes;)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I tried only this week to cycle in a skirt ... going out for our team lunch.... so I did a quick test run to the post box ... and I decided it was a little indecent (obviously not enough though to make white van man give way to me in a section that is litterally 1 car wide:sad:) and too awkward to cycle in.

I frequently cycle in flip flops and so far have not left them behind at the lights... I'm sure its only a matter of time.

(And yes Aperitif, she does have a nice pair of shoes!!!)

Flip flops are a nightmare but heels are fine especially at traffic lights as they provide a kind of ready-made kickstand. This is the first time I've had shoe issues :biggrin:

Amazing PP. I know women are in the habit of buying thousands of pairs of shoes they don't need but I had always assumed - naively it now appears - that at least they fitted.

Women like shoes that are the right size, but for which style is more important than any sort of retention mechanism that actually holds them onto the foot. Or so I've noticed.

Dayvo - that's close, but your model is a bit business-like in trousers. A flowery print dress was more what I had in mind. I think I'm probably influenced by Betjeman's Myfanwy. Myfanwy would have had something like a Pashley Princess.

Anyway, Princess has changed her avatar, perhaps to give a glimpse of what she actually looks like on her bike. (Although it looks more like a Parisian Velib than a Pashley Princess...)

I imagine PP to look a bit like Caroline Seymour - but I couldn't find a picture of her on a bike, so second best is this offering:

Is it close, PP? :biggrin:

Strangely, I did have the long blonde hair until a couple of years ago. But Laura Ashley print dresses are not my thing I'm afraid...:angry:

I suppose I do have a European attitude to cycling and can't for the life of me see why it's necessary to have cycling kit :wacko: well certainly for the cycling I do anyway...

<ahem!>

Mine are all sensible laceup trainers, or at the strappiest a pair of waterproof Merrel walking sandals.... (except for a couple of posh pairs, worn about once a year)

And they all fit.

But look: you know the brand name of them! Guilty as charged.

That's a bit feeble. Do you know the brand of your bikes? You woman, you... I probably wouldn't remember the brand of my sandals, if it wasn't embossed across the damn strap...
