Hi guys, so I'm pretty sure I'm missing my lightest gear (small front cog, biggest rear cog). If I move the pedals by hand while not on the bike the chain slips on to this gear, but it doesn't seem to want to switch while I'm riding up a hill, it's killing my quads. Any ideas. Also a few gears slip and the bike takes time to change gear sometimes. Bike is a Carrera zelos.

Most likely the limit screws and indexing want re-doing.

I dont know how to link videos, otherwise I would, but if you search it either on here or youtube, theres plenty. Or im sure if you wait some1 else will put one on.

Simple enough job and doeant take long.

Yeah that's well too complicated......I've moved the front derailleur so the chain no long catches either side of it. The chain still won't shift onto the inner most cog......by the way I don't have a bike stand

You best go to a bike shop then if you find that too complicated - it isn't really. Just print it off and work your way through it step by step.

if you've got no bike stand then hang the thing from garage rafters or whatever.

Normally only two reasons why a bike won't shift to the inner ring. Either the limit screw stopping the front mech shifting fully across or the cable is too tight resulting in the same result.

It true I've skim read it haha, I will print it off and work through it. I just don't have the time as work is mental at the minute. The rear derailleur won't move enough to drop the chain on to the last cog ( inner) I can push the derailleur by hand at it drops on while pedalling

Love it when people think things are complicated when they haven't even read it properly. Just takes even longer to do then, scratching head and sucking teeth. Each to their own.

I presume when you are changing gear with the front changer you relax the force on the pedals slightly, if you are keeping full pressure on the pedals its difficult to change, as you move the gear lever just relax the pressure on the pedals and see if it changes.
