Thank you very much, it's opened my eyes up massively.
I am a beginner Fab Foodie I purchased my first bike since I was a child 2 months ago and its only a hybrid bike but hitting it hard for a few hours when already on a low calorie diet can sometimes do me in so this article is ideal for a beginner like me.
Also us beginners learning things like this early can only help us further down the road.
Welcome back to the bicycle!
OK, couple of things that might help.
Firstly a Hybrid is just peachy, don't expect it to be a thoroughbred racing bike though.
Secondly warm-up properly on the bike (you didn't say how old you are but it's more important as you age), by that I mean take it nice and easy for at least the first 15-20 mins, spinning along in a comfortable gear and then 'spin down' the last 10 minutes.
Thirdly, If you have say a Banana or Muesli bar 30 mins before or a decent brekkie, you should not need much more for a 2 hour ride (just water, no energy drinks), though taking something easy to nibble is good practice (jelly babies are good).
Fourthly, don't try to go to hard yet, enjoy it, let your body adapt and build up to it's new regime, it doesn't take long - that's the beauty of the bicycle!
It get's easier - ish
