I ask as I have started imbibing about 1/2 a pint of water on hydration grounds before I turn in, not because the preceeding night has been spent on the tiles having a skinful, but because I have been thinking about blood. Yes, blood. I read somewhere that statistically the most common time of day for a heart attack is in the early hours when most are dead asleep. Now I like to think that I am not yet an old fogey so my organs are still quite fresh but the thought of them grinding to a halt or being put under undue strain because my little ticker is struggling to pump my thickening blood from head to toe because it is in need of water replenishment troubles me. Hence a drink of water before bed which I feel increases the likelihood that I will wake up alive in the morning. I drink a little and often throughout the day anyway.
