Don't take your bike to Centre Parcs!

We haven't been since the kids were small. I remember thinking seriously about taking our bikes and deciding against it, partly because I wasn't sure about leaving them around the place and how secure it would be, and partly because I knew you could hire bikes.

IIRC, most people used hired bikes - there weren't many who'd taken their own. The hire bikes were 'interesting' rides, but they did the job for the time we were there.

Mine didn't get nicked!

I see it says some bikes were worth up to £1000, can't say I saw many other than Apollo style full suss mtb specials worth about £3.50.

Wonder how many of those are insurance fraud chancers.

I didn't have any issues with my bikes at centre parcs.
but then using a decent set of locks really can put most people off even trying.

I have been to centre parcs and taken my own bike. When I wasn't riding it is was locked up inside the villa!

Never had a problem in three years (sherwood), mind you for the amount of 'cycling' I actually do & faffing / transporting, I might as well just walk or hire one

All those people who take wii and DS consoles to a Centre Parcs. Why ? What sad lives they must lead.

Why would anyone go on a Centre Parcs holiday anyway? I'd sooner stay at home.

We went when the kids were young - both were madly into swimming and there was plenty of other activities for them to do indoors and out. It was also less than an hour's travelling from home, which was a bonus. Personally, I wouldn't want to go again, but they loved it.

We're booked in for this year after going for our first ever visit last year.

I agree, it's not really my cup of tea, but for those with kids it's excellent. My eldest will be able to ride around the park with me this time, whilst I have the youngest in the trailer behind us shouting to go faster (no doubt). The eldest will also be able to swim a lt better and thus I can relax a bit more in the pools.

I also enjoyed doing a couple of the activities last time and may repeat them but try to get my helmet camera sorted for this time.

I took both mine and my Wife's bikes (and the eldests, although the hills were too much for her) and had no probs. They were locked up outside the cabin each night, but using reasonable locks rather than the twisted cotton ones which you can buy there.
