Yes I have used McD's when touring and yes I look at other peoples bikes the same way as I look at other peoples gardens or computers and for the same reasons, to see if any of their ideas would suit me. As for proper food I was brought up on a see food diet, to me the only food that is not proper is when I canot get it.

Correct.
Mind you "normal" fast food in india is not much better than mcdonalds (and no i dont have any research to substantiate anything i say, or indeed have ever said)
Mcdonalds in india obviously dosnt do normal burgers due to cultural / religous considerations but its equivalent is a mcchicken burger with cheese which is quality.

I have to admit to some hipocrisy. I have had the odd md, especially the cheap doubble cheese burgers. These days I do still go into MacDs in town but only because the public loos have been closed in our city centre and say what you like about the cheeky clown he does keep his loos nice and clean.

I've never cycled to a McDonald's but is the calorie intake there so much different to a really big cake stop?

490 calories in a Big Mac and nutritionally you're getting protein, carbs and salady stuff so they're actually not as mental as they sound on the surface. You could have one for each meal

Just don't add in fries, milkshakes, pies etc. etc.

Keep Calm and OMG.......CAKES!!
I never pass a bike without having a good look at it ! I'm always interested in what other people are riding. It gives me an idea of what I may like as my N+1

saw two middle age cyclists yesterday. One was riding a Boardman, the other a Carrera. Guess who's been shopping in Halfords?
As I drove past them, they turned off to a mcdonald! Thats not the way to keep fit I thought.
Like I said, dont know why I'm saying this as it is of no interest to anybody really.
Do you look at what bikes people are riding?

No doubt you'd be horrified to see me in my lycra coming out of my LBS on my Spesh Roubaix then.

About as much chance of seeing me use the 2 unspeakable places you mention as Nelson getting his eye back

ps nothing against Boardman bikes but after the relentless ads accompanying the TdF coverage I'll say no thanks.

I dont actively eat at mcds these days either but thinking about it i am seriously questioning the sense in depriving oneself of some quality burger just for the sake of a few grammes. Next time im passing and need the loo i will definitely have to call in - and while im here 2 cheeseburgers just to tide me over till i get home.
