McDonalds has always been a spontaneous craving for me which I don't enjoy when I satisfy it. I rarely eat them and when I do I regret paying for them as they taste...unnatural.

As for looking at bikes - I often do, but I don't really care what bike they're on, at the end of the day they're a cyclist and it's far better for them to be out on something which would be considered a "poor make" than not out at all.

I always equate going to McDonalds for a salad is like going to a prostitute for a hug when there is soooo much better stuff on the menu..

saw two middle age cyclists yesterday. One was riding a Boardman, the other a Carrera. Guess who's been shopping in Halfords?
As I drove past them, they turned off to a mcdonald! Thats not the way to keep fit I thought.
Like I said, dont know why I'm saying this as it is of no interest to anybody really.
Do you look at what bikes people are riding?

I hope you aren't 'stereo-typing' Boardman riders as McDonalds eating FB's?

But as Howard Jones sang about sitting by a pool watching the bikinis "You can look at the menu but you just can't eat"

Actually I enjoy a McDonalds occasionally and have been known to turn up on my Cannondale or Santa Cruz for one. I wonder if some kid was watching me disdainfully from the comfort of their car when I did?

not at all but it still amazes me when i see the number of people going into a Mcdo or when people refer to it as a treat for kids!
The only time I ever go into one of them is to use the toilet. I would never consider eating anything there because I like proper food.

I always look at other people's bikes, I like looking at nice bikes.

Mr Carolonabike rides a Boardman and has just added a pair of zip 404's which cost twice as much as the bike  . What's not to like, it's a good bike and it was cheap. He doesn't care what anyone thinks, and it becomes irrelevant anyway when they are trailing behind him in a race. He's doing his first iron man next year and I've no doubt he will ride his Boardman.

I liked it when mcdonalds sold cheeseburgers for about 50p each so you could really fill up. Interestingly in this country mcdonalds is cheap fast food , in other countries it is regarded in a totally different way - in india it is way more expensive than "normal" fast food and generally is only within the budget and the cultural sphere of the reasonably afluent.

What an awful example of style winning out over content. It must be a great source of satisfaction to their marketing people.

Correct.
Mind you "normal" fast food in india is not much better than mcdonalds (and no i dont have any research to substantiate anything i say, or indeed have ever said)
Mcdonalds in india obviously dosnt do normal burgers due to cultural / religous considerations but its equivalent is a mcchicken burger with cheese which is quality.
