Evans don't sell cube. Cycle surgery do I think

Could try a Cannondale synapse disc?

I don't think 8mm would make much difference, easily rectified with a shorter stem. Something else must make the Kinesis untenable IMO
Thanks again for all your input vickster. I dont remember my old Spec Secteur 56 frame giving me any grief. I always thought my Racelight was a little big when I bought it but it was too good to miss. I will admit there is an element of the new shiny bike syndrome.

£1000 gets you a really good used bike on ebay ....

herewith a few examples after a brief look at ebay .... I have not checked sizes but it's merely an example of what can be bought if you are patient. None of these have disk brakes though: .... The Scott Foil looks like a really good buy for someone who will fit on it, but it needs to be checked properly as there are some paint chips

I know ... thats why I said that none had disk brakes. I was merely giving examples of what I consider as good used bargains for the money he wishes to spend. If he searches ebay, I'm sure that he will find one with disk brakes and that fits, and that will be a much better bike than anything new for his budget

How will he know that it fits?

The general principle of buying second-hand to pick up a bargain is sound, but it's like you haven't paid the slightest attention to any part of the discussion beyond the budget.

he will buy one his size? .... That's what most people do

I have been paying attention and most people have been linking to brand new bikes .... My post was emphasizing the fact that if you are patient, and search for 2nd hand in good condition, you will get a much better bike for the same price

but obviously, it's the OP's money and his choice if he buys new or 2nd hand :becool:
