I have had a: 2cv, GS, ZX, Xsara, Picasso in the past . Only the Picasso gave me some problems with the fuel pump. I would recommend Citroens to anyone, good cars.

@gavroche I'd do it if I was you (just annoy all the knockers of them on here would be a good enough reason.....) its half the price of most other cars in its class but it aint half the car...... I'm genuinely over the moon with mine.... the Astra it replaced cost 4k 5 years old and went back twice under warranty
Don't worry, I intend to.

We seem to be getting a bit of a theme with Vauxhalls.
All I am saying is the Vauxhall was an adequate car but unispiring but meant to be above the Dacia in the car marque lists.... (if however we compare the Dacia to the Astra GTE I owned in my late 20's that would be a totally different story.......Possibly some rose tinted spectacles might be involved though)

I like the Dacias, they look like "utility" vehicles to me. The Sandero looks pretty good, nicer than the cheap tinny Hyundai/Kia/Suzuki's IMO.

I used to be given new company cars when I was young, spoilt early, so I never had any interest in new cars when I had to pay for my own. Most I've spent was £2050 on 3 year old Mondeo LX in 2004, I recently sold a Jeep Cherokee that I bought for £750, great fun & luxurious, I think I lost £200 in the 3 years I owned it. I am still looking for another and whilst I do I am running a 2003 Focus 1.6 Zetec which is mint and cost £850, FSH, the last 2 services costing over £600 each! I pay £120 (ish) for an annual service on cars and have never suffered anything worse on used cars than a bust coolant hose on the Jeep (£30 Ebay).

Good on you:thumbsup: are you going for 0.9 tce, 1.2 or diesel.... I went for 1.2 as other options took it out my spend zone..... but the 0.9 tce is the one I test drove VERY nippy I never would have guessed it was so small....
Going for the Laureate 1.5 diesel, just under £10000, because I like my gadgets and I want cruise control and speed limiter. Not bothered about the sat nav as I have a TomTom. Will have the standard white paintwork cos I don't want to pay £495 for a different colour. I only hope that prices won't go up by next year as I need to sell my C3 first when I retire from the driving school next year.

Markf, I work on the cars you mentioned they are not tinny, now the old To get City Car now that was Bacofoil.

Seem tinny to me.^_^ My mother had an Alto, now she has Swift, the Alto was tinny in comparison, but not as tinny as my MIL's tiny Hyundai. My mother is looking for a new car and I might get her to take a look at the Dacia.

I.

I did have a Kia picanto once cracking little car only sold it when it got too small (Little-un turned up) My mums got it now..... People used to take the Pee out of that as well... until I pointed it had central locking off the key, Aircon, brake discs all round and electric windows (including the back 2)... it also had 2 amps, 6x9 speakers and a 12 inch sub in the boot.... but they weren't standard
