Aperitif, bearing in mind that this is a thread primarily aimed at men, I think you need to clarify the following details for them: :biggrin:

Whether you take the biscuits out of the packet or not. ;)
How many biscuits you can consume before making this recipe, and still have enough biscuits left to make it?
The stick to which you refer is not a large twig.
What is the difference between single cream and married cream.

;):laugh::eek::laugh::biggrin:

That's good - and made me smile Speicher. There is a lengthy answer which I may have a bash at but I've been up since about 01:35 this morning and need to dream. Of cream. Or something suggestive.
User1314(er) needs to whip up some snappy snaps of his snack and get back on track and not be slack or I'll tell Jack, then we'll be harking cos it's him who'll be barking - with the odd Russell of pack - un-rapped.
Told you I was mad zzzz :tongue:xx(

Having spent a large part of my life away from home and living in apartments etc. cooking is something I do regularly. However if I'm cooking for a lot of guests then I get into a panic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I cook because it is the essence of mankind's achievement and collusion with mother nature.

I cook because it is what separates man from the animals. Cooking and self-gratifying.

Well, I'll not ask for horseradish sauce round your house, and that's no lie

In your amended version please include the correct way to prepare the bananas, or the pudding will be very unappealing.

With regard to the serving when capable, also serve when chilled. That is you, chilled, as well as the dessert. ;)

Um, there are quite a lot of animals that masturbate. So you might want to stop feeling quite so superior the next time you're indulging in that particular activity! ;) Cooking on the other hand does seem to mark us out.

As a matter of fact, I'm going round to a mate's house tonight, for him to cook me supper.

He let the side down guys, he said he couldn't be bothered and ordered pizza instead... ;)

Nice pizza though, and there's a couple of slices left over for my lunch later...

I really like cooking. One of the nicest things I've done is a rabbit which I shot myself which I cooked in wine, garlic, tarragon and cream and served with french beans and new potatoes.

That sounds quite nice actually. Are the french beans green ones? If not then you need some cannellini beans in there to bolster it and take the edge off the cheap wine.

Also some celery as a bitter counterpoint to the cream.

Green and freshly picked from the garden. And the wine was not cheap - it was a 2007 Lambrini from Netto.

I can cook. When Mrs Uncle Phil is at home, we sort of take it in turns, or whoever gets home first/has the furthest-off deadline/isn't gigging that evening does it.

I work with large field teams away from home from time to time. The usual deal is to rent a place to live for the duration, and everyone pitches in with shopping and cooking. Sometimes a rota is necessary, sometimes we have a team who are all sensible enough to cook something when they can see it needs doing.

Last couple of years, we've been working with a German company who send over people from all over Europe. We get an interesting range of meals that way - Italian, Spanish, Polish, German, French. Even English, sometimes.

(Entertaining corollary - it's very amusing listening to two people who have no other common language and who aren't comfortable in English trying to have a blazing row in it...)

In my last team, we had a lad who, although in his mid-thirties, literally couldn't boil an egg without help. We had to teach him how to peel potatoes, chop onions - everything. Unbelievable. Naturally, he was from England...
