Yup. If you'd like like it as a belt for yourself, I do a special price for forummers. If you just want to get rid of it, and would be happy to post, I'm happy to have it, and see you right for postage. PM me if so...

(This assumes it's workable - very knobbly tyres don't work so well and some slicks are tougher to work thanks to puncture protection. Is that damage confined to one area, or all round? If one area, I can work round it.)

That is typical skid damage. I should know, used to do it all the time as a kid and went through many, many tyres prematurely as a result (much to my parents disgust!). If you are not intentionally locking the wheel to pull massive tail end slides around the corners then perhaps you have a kink in the rim sidewall that is causing the brake to grab in that spot?

Thanks all for the comments. The tyre has been replaced now!

@Night Train and @Arch - I'll see if I can post you the old tyre - but I'm unlikely to get to the post office for 2-3 weeks.
