I'm doing the Essex Castle Ride.

3 routes: 25, 50 and 75 miles. I am doing the 50. If that goes ok will do the 75 mile ride next year.

My longest ride to date is 38 miles and have been cycling (not as often as I would like) for 5 months now albeit I cycle the short distance to work every day on my old hack

If weather permits tomorrow I might try and achieve the first half century ride I promised myself to have a go at by the summer

My milestone is 50 miles by mid July. I'm planning to do London to Southend. I rode 41 miles Saturday (my longest to date), 30 miles Sunday and 14 miles yesterday. I'm having a rest day today.

You'll smash it.

I did London to Southend way back in 1988. It was a great ride. Far more enjoyable than the London to Brighton a couple of weeks later. Not sure how many do the London to Southend now but back then there were only a few thousand compared to something like 20,000 + on Lon - Brighton which made it unrideable at times.

My 50 miler is end of July.

Once I have done that I plan to try and do 40-50 mile rides once a week.

I know what you mean, the 20 miles I've done this evening is just a quick blast now. 40 miles is a nice ride and I'll try and do at least 1 60+ miles each month until it drops to freezing
