Hi, I am a newbie. Have been cycling for about 2 - 3 months.
Obviously not a total newbie did quite a lot of cycling between the ages of 5 - 15 years old and even managed London to Southend and London to Brighton when I was about 18.
So, now 43 years old I decided it was time to get some regular exercise after losing 2 1/2 stone in last few years through pretty much diet/change in lifestyle.
So bought myself a Carrera Zelos. I am sure a few will sneer at my Halfords bike but it will do for now.
Anyway, have signed up to do a 50 mile ride and will be raising money towards research into a rare type of childrens cancer that my 18 month old nephew died of last year.
Before this weekend had managed around 25 miles although this was basically 10 laps of a local airfield on the lovely flat smooth perimeter road. So this weekend planned a route/loop on the roads and headed out.
Total route was 34 miles completed in just over 2 1/2 hours with a 30 - 40 minute rest/refreshment break.
LOVED IT !
