Totally original beneath the grime.
Nice cro mo frame and half decent components. Will make a great all rounder.

Raleigh Pioneer. Still cheep. Bombproof. Not that appealing to thieves. Can be ridden off road. Will take any old parts you have in the shed.

Seconded. Cracking bikes, and take an upgrade well (mine's had v-brakes and new integrated brake/shift levers - cost all of about £40, at the time).

Other than that, rigid 80s/90s MTBs make great do it all bikes, imo.

Good work. I need to up my game a bit and get on Gumtree as well as ebay by the looks of it.

This was advertised for £5. Stated brakes not working and handlebars not straight. 5 minutes tightening and checking, air in tyres, rides great. Really nice frame and decent spec on it. Can still unearth the odd bargain on gumtree, but you gotta get in quick.
