I decided that I will try and prep and paint the frame by hand.
I was unable to remove the crankset (won't budge) or the headset (I don't have a big enough spanner set)
I am going to do a section at a time, and ensure I get a perfect finish.
The forks were stripped and sanded first. Partly down to bare metal, but definately to a good base.
After a good clean and dry, I put a primer coat on.
The primer is showing a few small areas which need additional work, but I am happy with the finish and the primer is helping me see the flaws before any further paint.
The top tube has now had the same treatment, slowly working around the frame. I am really pleased with the results.

That is just it. I can potentially buy another one for say £50. So spending £50 on parts and paint needs to be the limit!
I am minus the mudguards unfortunately.

Yes I have a couple of bikes that need re commissioning but it's cheaper to buy a different bike at the moment.

Have you looked at the Dawes Cycle Heritage Facebook group for information? In any event, I just re-purposed a Fox and have parts available, including safety levers, derailleurs, levers etc.
