Hi all, new here having migrated, but looking to restore this that I picked up, saving it from the tip. I've now striped it down but the stem is stubbornly stuck at the minute.
I'll add some more pics later as this is the only one I currently have.

Bilt hammer penetrating oil is quite helpful.

Remove carefully. Use lots of penetrating oil and tapping with a hammer over time can lead to positive results.

Under no circumstances try twisting the stem out using the forks as leverage, you'll end up with twisted forks - looks like it could be a nice restoration project, no point ruining it out of the gate.

Some picture updates after stripping. Need to find time to work on the stem properly.

Not looking too bad, definitely in need of a good bit of TLC. Not originally a single speed/fixed gear though so could be worth adding some gears.

For the stem, make sure you dislodge the quill properly, I've had it a couple of times where it hasn't loosened properly and kept the stem in. Back it off until the bolt is out a half cm and give it a good whack with a steel hammer, and repeat until it's fully loosened. If you've been using penetrating oil you might be able to loosen it out at that point by hitting the underside of the stem with a heavy hammer repeatedly.
