As long as I breathe, I attack.
I was half heartedly looking at new or nearly new Stepways a couple of months ago.

After having driven new one (0.9 turbo TCe) and looking at two others (one of which had an inch of water sloshing round the rear footwells, on a year old car!!!) I, for reasons too numerous to list without crashing the forum, bought a 30,000 mile used 2008 instead.

Shame, because I really wanted to believe but with what I saw, touched and drove I just couldnt make the leap.

Odd ,never had a single issue with ours in 6 years

To elaborate on the above. The kit is decent, it looked good in a sort of metallic mid green with cooper accents, the thing is cavernous inside, and it has a hybrid motor (which I didn't realise they do). The finish was crisp and sharp, shut lines all straight and regular, little to fault.

And that has been going round in my mind overnight.

So when Mrs D gets back from her weekly swimming session with her chums I think we'll go across to Milton Keynes and see if we can get a test drive.

Cripes!

mrs ck is hankering after another car and as kitchen loan finishes next year so i said we will look then .She wants a bigger car as the kids are now mini adults but she isnt really up to driving a bigger car ...
The new duster looks like an option as the stepway as its 6 cm longer and only a couple of cm wider .
I am trying to get here to consider an estate but she struggles as it is to reverse .
We only really need the extra space for long trips and i do have a roof box but we are limited to size and height due to the gate on the driveway having a cross bar that i assume is bracing the posts .

it did get a really good review on carwow , even decent performance in the model they tested , its another reason i was pushing it as hybrids have auto gear boxes and mrs ck forgets to change gear ( side note she has had 2 mini strokes so does her best )

Is the hybrid plug in if not I think it's a bit annoying!
None of the benefits of plug in - a fudge imho.

Oh dear. Something unforseen may have just happened. I may have accidentally bought this...

In that exact spec (Extreme, the top level), in that exact colour, with the hybrid powertrain.

Doesn't arrive until Jwnuary, which gives me the time to save my pension pennies to pay for it.

Let's hope I don't win the raffle now!
