D-Lock: Do I need a better one for new bike?

Thinking of the Kryptonite Evolution Mini 7 - but is it long enough to go through frame as well as a wheel?

I have this lock, It's not big enough for putting through the frame and a wheel without using the cable but if you put the lock through the back wheel then they would have to cut the wheel to bits or the lock to get the bike free. tbh tho I have never done that as it seems wrong to not secure the frame somehow.

Thanks for the help, I picked up an Abus Ultimate U-lock with loop cable from LBS, reduced from £40 to £25. Way better and tougher than my rubbish old d-lock. Any tips to stop lock rattling in bracket? New bike is smooth and silent on road until I put the lock on!
