Summer must be on the way Of the dozen, or so, cyclists I saw on my ride yesterday only one didn't either speak or raise a hand. One young chap on an ebike even rode along with me for a while chatting until his route diverged from mine.

I don't tend to smile and nod to anyone and those that are needy will just have to swallow it. I definitely don't acknowledge anyone on a mountain bikes as talking to kids you don't know is weird...

See I do give them a wave, often they are grimacing in seeming agony but most if not all reply. I'd say joggers as likely if not more so to respond than some cyclists. On my ride today I said hi to everyone I came across, other cyclists, walkers, joggers etc. The sun was out and feel good factor was up.

Some are OK - some are only interested in their own thing and just refuse to move over

German Wehrmacht cyclists are so keen to greet other riders they will often ignore national borders in their haste to get in there with their special wave.

Just setting off from work on my home, was overtaken by a bearded middle aged man on an MTB wearing wellies- I was in full lycra roadie gear.

He gleefully yelled "NEEEAAAAOOORRRMMM!!!" then immediately pulled off left into an alleyway.

Maximum respect, pure class.
