I decided, after being blinded constantly by the sun, or by rain/mist/fog/snow, that contact lenses were the way to go. Pop them in before a ride and if it's sunny, on go the sunglasses. I find that in the rain my sunglasses repel the water much better than my standard glasses would, so I usually leave them on.

It's just a bit of a faff having to put the lenses in all the time, taking them out, cleaning them etc etc. I'd love to have laser surgery but A) it's expensive and B) I simply don't trust it enough (ie. I'm a wimp

I've been waiting for decades to come across the product I remember Fred Dinenage demonstrating about 35 years ago on the "How" program that the old Southern TV station used to produce.

Basically, it was a pair of windscreen wipers for glasses. Can't imagine why the idea wasn't a commercial success.............


He is still going strong doing the local news at six for Meridian Broadcasting.
