Hello from Wokingham - cycling novice!

Hi I'm Sara from Wokingham and am about to buy a bike under the bike to work scheme with a £300 budget. I will be using it for Weekend cycles on roads and paths and would like a hybrid. I viewed a Carreira Crossfire 1 in Halfords which seemed good at £250 down from £350 however thought I should do a little research before purchasing hence why I am here. Any advice would be appreciated? Many thanks Sara.

:welcome:. The Carrera Crossfire, is a very nice bike for the money, given that you have some tight stipulations ( budget, and cycle to work ), I'd say you can't go far wrong with that bike. See if they will let you have a trial ride before you commit, but I reckon you'll be alright:thumbsup:.

Firstly, hi and :welcome:,you will get lots of friendly advice right here on these forum. With your £300 budget you won't go far wrong with the carrera crossfire, my son has one which hie uses to commute to and from work and I have to admit to being surprised at how light it is.

You really can't go wrong with the Crossfire at that price. The only word of caution is that Halfords quality control on build is variable between excellent and who let that moron near a spanner?
If you have a knowledgeable friend who can check it over for you before you ride it, that would be ideal.

The Carrera has a front suspension fork which, at this price point, adds weight but little else.

The Pinnacle Lithium Two from Evans looks the nicer bike to me.

No sus fork, and simple V brakes which are better than the cheap cable discs on the Carrera.

Under 11kg too - you can believe that, I was playing with a couple of Lithiums earlier today and they do feel light.

I doubt you will do better for £325.
