I have been riding mostly in the dark, but it is mostly city roads, nothing scary!

I find it easier in the dark assessing traffic though, I can see headlights long before I can hear the car, where as in the day time I only know the car is there when it's on top of me. (This is partly because I have some ear problems and riding makes my tinnitus worse)

The problem I do have is I only use a light that helps me be seen, rather than help me see, and pot holes full of water in the dark are nasty even on lit roads.

All this talk about lights, but has the light yet been invented which enables one to see ghosts behind big trees along the darkened route?

Fast and careful!
I have a moon 600 on my helmet that way what I am looking at gets lite up and a cheapy pointing at the road,a good rear light flashing and I'm off, never as fast as the day ,pot hole dodging,a lot of cycling gear has reflectors on so that's always a bonus
