I started properly cycling just over a year ago, my weight had ballooned up to about 125kg, and I wasn't particularly fit either.

Since then I've lost just under 30kg (or about 5st), but as @Nigelnaturist noted that's not entirely through just cycling, I also went on a fairly restricted calorie diet last year too, and the bulk of my weight loss was through that.

Since Jan, I've lost about 5kg, but haven't been dieting, although I'm generally fitter and do more exercise elsewhere like taking the stairs at work...

Just keep at it and eat less than you use. Also worth trying apps like Google fit too.

I`v gone down from a 34" to a 30" waist, sweat less and feel much more energetic since I (re)started cycling in August last year.

I`d like to mention the mental benefits you also get from cycling. I work long hours (over 50 hours a week) and going out for a ride gives me time to think about things and seems blow all the cobwebs away.... Its a reeeeet stress buster :highfive:
Cycling and skydiving are the best antidepressants available.

Not been on the bike for almost two weeks. Firstly I was at Glastonbury and didn't feel really well there and after my return, and secondly I suffered a heart attack last Friday (arrived home today)! While I'm making good progress, I am not allowed to do any cycling until given the all clear by the rehabilitation team, which is a pain as I'm not allowed to drive for at least two weeks either. I am feeling surprisingly good, but I have been warned off trying too much too soon by a very scary consultant!

On the plus side (!?) I dropped half a stone between Friday and Monday, so the lack of weight loss, that I was bemoaning earlier, has reversed itself.

As soon as I'm able I will be on the bike and out... perhaps a bit slower than normal... if that's possible ^_^:bicycle:
