I have just received a Cyclaire Plus pump. What a heap of cr8p! It does not work at all. After finally working out the totally unclear instructions we have and being stupid enough to believe that it works on EVERY type of valve which is total lies, it has not pumped my Batavus or my husband's presta valves. The dial is simply not working at all. My husband is able to put more air into his tyres using an old-fashioned pump with a nozzle that the treads are worn on. How this piece of utterly useless rubbish has ever won an award is unfathomable. I am packing it up and sending it back.

I've got a Cyclair and it's worked fine for me! Brilliant for a one-handed person as normal pumps just don't work well one-handed!

Is it not likely that you're using it wrong if other people like it and it's won an award? Just a thought...

Cyclaire have agreed to take it back and to refund the money. We have wondered if it is faulty as there are such inconsistent views expressed elsewhere on this forum. Others have had our exact experience whilst some have thought it was amazing. To us it is absolutely awful and I never want to see it again or have anything further to do with cyclaire.

Abit over the top dont you think? The company has agreed to take it back and give you your money back.

You read instructions on how to use a pump?

We've got one somewhere for pumping up airbeds, and overall it was less effort than a foot pump.

One tip for the cyclist's version - don't take it on a FNRttC as one person did, as they're a bit noisy - it woke a few neighbours.
