Started again today :-(

I also have the very same problem, started when i put a new chain on, the noise is like a grinding creaking sound and occurs when putting a bit of power through the right hand crank at the 2 o'clock position, removed the cranks checked the chainrings, removed the BB, done the seatpost and the pedals and still can't find it, the last time i had this noise i had a cracked frame but i can see no (visible) crack this time.

If you have a look at my other thread, I have a similar problem. It's more of a clicking noise though, and only starts about 5 mins into a ride. I've checked everything I can think of, with the exception of the BB bearings, so I think I'm just gonna get a new BB and see if that fixes it...

Have you checked the chainset nuts? Possibly these are loosening and you need some loctite or similar on the threads?

I had 2 annoying creaks for weeks.

The first was fixed with new cleats (old ones were worn out after 5k miles). The second one took longer, but after trying everthing mentioned by others, I replaced the 'original equipment' bottom bracket.

Now silence again.
