I noticed yesterday, when stood up on my CAAD9 my left crank seemed to be causing creaking , no matter how fast I went when sat down i didnt happen and the right one didn't do it when I stood up, just the left.

Your diagnosis PLEASE.

First thing is to check the tightness of the cleat on your LH shoe (assuming you use cleats of course). Check that your cranks are tight with no movement and if you've got a leather saddle it's worth checking if the leather is not rubbing at the tensioning bolt end. Finally, if all's ok above, dissemble chainset and re-assemble.

also check bottom bracket cups - mine had grit in the threads which caused creaks that no one could find.

I'd look at the frame for cracks first, it does happen, then like everyone has said. Check tightness of everything. I'd start at the cleat, then pedal, crank bottom bracket.
I had one creak that turned out to be the saddle bag straps creaking on the under saddle mounts. By the time I found that one I'd serviced the entire bike!

I had a creak that I couldn't track down and carried on regardless. That is until my left hand crank snapped in two as I was out of the saddle grinding up a steep bit.

Could have been nasty but it was just scary and I looked daft doing a one legged pedal all the way home.

No bb30 expert but could be the pre load tension as the bearings press fit, then the cranks load them. In this case its only an Allen key or two.
