If you were riding it with loose/missing bolts for more than a very short time you can expect the splines to be knackered.

Right, I am not the only one without spacers. That makes me feel a lot better.

Never used spacers either when I was running Hollotech. Now all changed over to Square taper anyway.

a few months ago I have my bike serviced and since have had issues with the crank

I would have gone back to the place that serviced it. Meanwhile take both cranks off and take a photo looking down on BB from both sides (L/R).

Had a single spacer off and managed to get it locked on and seems to be okay but will test properly tomorrow, think too much damage will have been done it that is the issue and I've been commuting on it daily.
