On the sort of same subject
I used to be a teacher in a secondary school
One of the Senior Teachers was a Geography teacher - used ot be Head of Geography
He had a theory - he claimed he KNEW -but read they you judge
You know when you pass a sign which says "You are leaving Cornwall"
Then shortly after you pass one that says "Welcome to Devon"
well - why is there a gap???????
Now what he said was that the difference was the width of the line on the official map which showed where the counties start and finish
the "You are Leaving" has to be on one side of the line"
but the "Welcome to" sign cannot be placed before the other side of the line
Same applies to the sign for countries such as Wales - were I was at the time
anyway - I think this is the sort of thing that needs to be shared
