Contemplating a little 'n00bie' adventure...yay or nay?

Brittany Ferries keep sending me 'offers' ever since my wif and I had a brief holiday there last year.

I worked out that I COULD take myself and a bike over to Roscoff from Plymouth overnight with a cabin, another little ferry to some bonkers little 3.5km long island called Isle d Batz......ride round it in a couple of hours or so (ahem!) Eat some moules and quaff some vin blanc and leg it back to Roscoff in time for the 3pm ferry home to Plymouth. (We live about 20 miles away from Plymouth and my everloving will ferry me to the ferry if I can't face the mind-numbing, knee -trembling hack down the dual-carriageway which I drive every day for work anyway ) 45 Quid return?

I love ferries!

But

I haven't done a 'Boys own Adventure' for years (certainly not with bike!) and we ARE talking first fortnight in December here....so probably driving wind and rain all day knowing my luck......but hey...you only live once.

I would probably take my MTB rather than the Road Bike in case of inclemency.

Need a bit of encouragement really . or ?

Well, I suppose if the weather was inclement you could just stay in Roscoff after you got ashore and imbibe there. Although, a day on the mussels and plonk would raise costs and might increase the risk of you missing the 15.00 departure.

What's the worst that could happen? Apart from the fact that it will be December and you will be on a tiny island with little cover from the freezing cold icy wind and driving rain on a bicycle....? Well I suppose the ferry could sink - so just make sure the captain isn't Italian......

But yes, life is too short for ifs and might have beens - do it and have a great time!
