Easy, i have sussed it. For every bike you buy get one for her, even if she doesn't cycle. It works.

It's taken me a couple of years of watching racing to get a grip on tactics and how things work. Lots going on in the peloton.

Good thread this for all the TDF questions lets keep it going. The bit I don't understand is why Sagan and not Kittel has got the green jersey, is this because he has done better in the intermediate spints.? Do KOM points count towards Green jersey or not?

KOM points just count towards the King of the Mountain jersey and different climbs are awarded different points. Intermediate Sprints count towards the Green jersey (as do Sprint finishes) so Sagan will have amassed more points in the middle of the race than Kittel. Sprint points generally have a lot more places gaining them too. So KOM might be first three while Sprint are first ten.

Also while you can hold multiple jerseys you can only wear one at a time and there's a hierarchy so Sagan was eligible for Green and White but wore Green, second place in the White jersey will be in White so it is in existence on the road.

Tried that but she used big words like depreciation and utilisation. I think it is her training in accounting that is holding her back from embracing the 'n+1' rule.

Kitten wasn't just a little 'late' in stage two, he came in twenty minutes after the winner, riding no hands and with his arms around his fellow riders like a seaman returning from an evening's shore-leave. I liked his style!
I'm so calling him "Kitten" from now on...

I do think the points competition is too skewed in favour of the intermediates rather than the stage win.

3 out of 4 wins and Kittels not in green? Makes no sense to me.

It's to stop the GC contenders also being the Points contenders. They are only interested in time at the end, high point intermediate sprints encourage some action before the last 5km of the race. If doesn't always happen, but that's what they are there for.

It's important to remember that TDF stage wins are important as well even though they don't contribute to a jersey necessarily.
