The last time I laughed solidly for more than 10 minutes was when I was off ill with a bad cold and put on the Jackass Movie. I almost passed out as I was simultaneously laughing, wheezing and having a coughing fit and not really breathing for a bit.

My sick sense of humour just appreciated the gross goings-on, and I'd been starved of human contact for a few days and likely found it far funnier than I may have done normally.

The only other time I thought I was going to pass out laughing was when I was in the front row of a Billy Connolly gig in the Usher Hall in Edinburgh in the early 90. He went on a run of utterly hilarious scenarios that meant I didn't really get a good breath for 5 minutes or so.

Maybe not unable to breathe, but the cow thrown onto Alan Partridge was very funny, as was the moment he exclaimed

"It's hotter than the sun!"

on eating a microwaved apple turnover at the garage shop.

When he puts his foot through a fence spike is a good one too!

I was 11 years old and watched Peter Sellers in a Pink Panther film. I don't think I've laughed as hard.[/QUOTe

Did that have the bit in it with him dismounting the parallel bars, I've been trying to track down which film that was in for ages

When I was about twelve I saw Freddie Starr on the box and I think I laughed for a week. Saw him recently on the tv and I nearly fell off the sofa. Not everyones taste but he tickles me.
Most Pub Landlord moments when he is not doing his chat show.

A scene from "Roger Roger". The owner of the taxi company died and had asked for the theme from The Bodyguard to be played at the funeral. They got the song wrong and played the theme tune from Minder, cue the mourners dancing around at the funeral singing "I could be so good for you ".

Cleese was the absolute master at piling joke on related joke. My all-time favourite was him becoming increasingly exasperated by Sybil telling him things he already know and ending with "Can't we get you on Mastermind, Sybil? Next contestant Sybil Fawlty from Torquay, specialist subject the bleeding obvious."

Clockwise was also genius. Starting with the smallest mistake and building up an amazing sequence of events from there, generating absurdity from small, logical, believeable steps.

Love that. Also the ep when he thinks Patrick is his gay brother cos he's walking funny and holding a pink umbrella:biggrin: One of my favourite ever shows.
Phoenix nights when the mini-bus full of midgets pulls up outside the club-Max and Paddy 'how far away are they'

Ken Dodd at Blackpool twice .

At Bradford not so good .But later that week he was admitted to hospital. He needed an operation .He was telling jokes twice he seemed a little lost .

As most things are less funny the second time I look for good new comedy. Sadly I cannot remember the last time I lost control laughing.
Best recent comedy was in Skins - first episode of the second cast when they assembled in the school hall. Teacher with the megaphone was brill.

Stir crazy with richard pryor and Gene wilder, the two main bits are where they are locked in a cell with "grossberger" and where Gene wilder is mesmerised by a fly that lands on the bald head of a very larger mauler!
If you havent seen it treat yourself!
Lately there have been a few episodes of buzzcocks that have cracked me up, the most memorable one was hosted by Frankie boyle.
He ended it with "Im frankie boyle and you have no doubt been watching a very heavily edited episode of never mind the buzzcocks!" after telling some really close to the knuckle jokes(which i howled at)!

All the bits in Flint Street Nativity where Frank Skinner is involved, but especially the bit where he's climbing a small set of stage steps and gets his nativity robe caught under his feet, progressively pulling him into a bent over shape, closer and closer to the ground with every step up. He's been acting as if he's a sports commentator throughtout and just before he falls off the top step he says "He's in trouble now, Des!". Had me in stitches and still does.
