I meant locking the bikes to each other, not locking the bikes to us!

UK Outlook for Tuesday 25 Mar 2014 to Tuesday 8 Apr 2014:

The current trend is for fairly typical conditions for the end of March and into April, with a changeable mixture of weather and a cold feel at times. As such, some spells of wet and windy weather should be expected, these most frequent in the north, with the risk of hill snow. However, there will also be drier and brighter interludes, with the best of these to the south and east. Temperatures are likely to be near normal or below, especially in the north, and any clearer nights will be rather cold with the risk of frost.

No, no, no - we want sunny and warm - I'm not having that cold, wet and windy stuff!

I am busy trying to tripleize my Cannondale in time for the ride, but I will not be riding it in bad weather.

I was thinking that with potentially 30 or 40 of us, we should be able to have at least 1 or 2 people standing watch over the bikes at the cafe stop while others are queueing to be served? If the sun is shining, I'd be happy to do it - there is a big grassy area opposite to sit on if all the tables and chairs outside are occupied.

Hi Colin - you ok if I join the ride please? Appreciate its short notice. I've been plucking up the courage to do a full day as its been a while.......

Thankfully I have good friends i.e.TF and DrP having helped with the motivation (butt & kick!)
I was quietly wondering if you would break cover, especially after the recent recce!

Of course you can join us. You should have plenty of different riders to ride along with, from the pretty slow, to the pretty nippy, depending how you feel on the day. I will be towards the slower end of the spectrum!

There seems to be a lack of @Hill Wimp on that list
There was, yes!

Any more omissions?

I am now planning on riding from Ingleton, so will probably meet you at Whalley and then leave you at Glasson Dock, providing weather plays ball

Two weeks today ... that's not very long, is it?

I've bought my train ticket so there's no going back now, not at that price. If conditions suddenly make a ride impossible, there'd better be a walk instead
