Clipless makes me nervous....

I've also had two near misses - one yesterday and one today, and both times have managed to unclip without thinking about it, actually both times just as i was thinking 'I'm going to fall over.'
In that case, you're definitely winning  My clipless moments all involved me thinking "I.MUST.UNCLIP" then going splat. Nowadays it's mostly second nature.

I used to struggle but find it very easy now. I started off with sone keo easy pedals and put the tension to the lowest possible. When I came to traffic lights I either held on to railings if possible or just take one foot out about ten metres before but keep it on the pedal until I came to a standstill. Every week or so just increase the tension and you'll be great in no time!!!

I know what you mean - I am a recent cliplessette too. I find it more scary on the road bike, probably because it's new, not even done 15 miles on it, getting used to everything else about it too. I have half/half pedals on the commuter hybrid, tend just to go with pedals but do find it easier on that when I do use the clipless, probably because I am more comfortable on the bike and less scared about stacking it!

I need to get the clipless shoes looked at as my feet keep going numb!

Yes, they replaced toeclips and straps, hence clipless. I think there may be some explanation in the FAQ?

Just do it, I've fell off twice and it just gives me something to laugh at when I look back. Strangely you'd think XCing would be more likely to make me fall off but nope, both times have been cycling from work.

I love em.

Falling off is one thing (although last time I fell off a bike I damaged my knee, 2 operations later and still not right, so not overly keen) but damaging my new £1500 carbon bike is quite another!
