Cleats won't engage with pedal with new shoes

genuine look cleats with fixed float the best cleats i have actually ever used are wellgo from CRC hardest plastic out of any of them and only around a fiver also come with the grips on the bottom so you dont slide over when you pop to the Chinese as i am about to now lol

Could be too much bend in the sole - have you positioned the cleat correctly fore/aft for the ball of your foot to be over the pedal axel ?

My Mavic shoes came with two thin shims of different thickness without any shims no click with the thinner of the shims (1mm) full positive click and engagement.

mine probably need said shims @SS Retro @fossyant ive tried the min literally every position on the shoe but ive got it working at the correct point for my foot now with the sanded down cleat
