cleaning my helmet

Remove the internal pads, wash the straps with normal soap, then pressure wash the helmet itself with your shower if you have one, otherwise just stick it in a bowl of soapy water, then rinse and hang up to dry.

Give you some idea how bad I am at cleaning my helmet.Itwas only when it finally occurred to me to do something about my sweaty helmet that i remembered that not only does it have removable pads(Catlike Whisper)but that I have two spare pairs of pads. Oh the shame! Mind you,all I ll do now is swap old for new and clean the straps, lazy, feckless individual that I am!

With my helmet it's not possible to extract the webbing straps to wash them separately. I get a big bucket of warm water and stick in a bar of Ariel Bio . Helmets float so I keep the helmet underwater by jamming a wooden spoon in one of the ventilation slots and bracing the other end of the spoon against the bucket handle. Having left it overnight, I rinse it under the shower before hanging it on the washing line. It works quite well.

I find mits and gloves get more smelly. xx(

These things are frackin awesome. Too big for mitts but great for sticking in winter gloves & shoes.
