I know it doesn't get cheesier than this, but I find buying Christmas presents a bit of a worry, so I thought we would pool our collective wisdom. Name, description, price, availability, and the sort of person it might suit. That kind of stuff.
1. Decathlon Vitamin single speed for young people. £69.95. Available intermittently, as in not right now, but expected back before Christmas. Black. Not too heavy. Zigzag has one, which is a pretty fair recommendation!
2. H+M dresses for 15-20 year olds. This one is £12.99, They're really well put together.
3. Jo Malone 154 cologne. £34 and £68. Irresistible. Available from the shp at Sloane Square or mail order http://www.jomalone.co.uk/product/3597/9945/Fragrances/Colognes/Woody/154/154/Cologne/index.tmpl store locator http://www.jomalone.co.uk/boutiques/index.tmpl
4. Rocket motors for kids age 10 and up http://www.wheelspinmodels.co.uk/hobbies/category/Rocket-Motors__393/0/100/140/ not expensive, and loads of laughs. The kid makes his or her rocket body out of cardboard and lengths of plastic pipe. £10 to £15. Alternatively you can buy the rocket. http://www.wheelspinmodels.co.uk/hobbies/category/Rockets-E2X-Series__398/ I'm telling you - seeing one of these suckers go up to 600ft is quite something. There's always the possibility that the kid will blow him or herself up, so excellent for those nephews that you really don't like. Any decent toyshop.
5. Max Mara coat. For women 25 and up. The coat to end all coats. Serious points. Really serious points. £800 to infinity. http://www.maxmarafashiongroup.com/en/Project-exhibition/coats#video . Max Mara New Bond Street for the best range.
6. Scalextric. Just as good as it ever was. Sixty quid and up. http://www.scalextric.com/shop/sets/scalextric-start/world-rally-c1249/ The thing with Scalextric is that you are up and running with the cheapest set - although a few additional straight lengths of track will never go amiss. Sets with crossovers are fun.
