Did last year had to wait 45 min to get started when watching other people pusing in by going over start line with helmits to start timing chip off (Well done lads who did this) Then had to wait at end about 30 min to get certificate and medal plus not enough places to park and you had to pay 4 this. All said might still be there next year.

I think its the parking that is putting me off signing up for this. Dont want to get there and spend ages playing hunt the parking space.

I wouldnt bother trying to park at the stadium. There's loads of parking on the outskirts of town, easy for a quick getaway too.

Just ride it any time you like. Why put yourself through all that hassle (reading posts above, more negatives than positives!)

It's how I tend to ride all my, ahem "sportives". Mow Cop will be almost traffic free when I do it, so will a lot of the rest of the route, too.

That's the way to do it.

My main aim in the next year or two will be the Spud Riley. That is proper hard, and not too many riders, but fantastically organised by a local club. The weather is usually shocking for June/July though when they run it. This is local for me - well the start is, but it runs up and down just about every nasty hill in the backbone of the Peaks.
