I had the same with my Cannondale Synapse Sora. Went to discuss it with The Bike Factory. Whaley Bridge. He made several alterations and I've never looked back. He did fit cross levers also but I've never used them, never needed to. If Chrissie would like to try my bike to see what difference the adjustments made before you go ahead let me know, I'm only over t'hill ^_^

That's a very kind offer thanks, but Chrissie's really fallen out with drops and, looking at it from her perspective, I can see why.
We've gathered so much info about changing the bike to flat bars that she's now quite excited about it.
Again, thanks.

To replace internal cables remove only the inner cable leaving the outer in place, slide in the new inner and pull the old outer out then slide the new outer on to the inner cable
But how does the inner find its way to the exit from the frame? As far as I can see there's no outer inside the frame.

I have never seen one without an inner.if thats the case maybe you could join the two cables together using the old cable to guide the new one through

Shimano Claris 8speed shifters/brake levers will do the job for £40.
They work on MTB flat bars, swept-back bars like On-One Mary and butterfly/trekking style.

So has anyone here changed an internally routed cable on a Cube Peloton/Axial? The outer on the rear brake cable doesn't go through the frame. Difficult to tell with the gear cables. This seems to be my last obstacle with what seems to be an otherwise straightforward job.
