Yes, most people reckon that the factory lubrication is good for 500km but YMMV. @figbat may have a view.

Sadly I don't - my experience is not really relevant to bicycle chains (although the principles of lubrication are pretty universal). I don't know what the factory applies nor how long it could last. I'd guess it will depend on a lot of factors, such as load, conditions, cleanliness etc. To be honest, as a 30-year veteran of the lubricant research and development industry, my chains get whatever comes to hand!
