Chain rubbing on front derailleur

It may be that the BB needs changing to a shoter length axle one to allow for the difference in the chainline with the new chainset. The shorter axle will allow the chainset to effectively 'move over' a few mm and bring it back into the outer range limit of the derailluer. This does happen sometimes when changing chainsets unless it is a straight like for like swap. LBS should have checked this when they did the work.

Well I have had the bike taken in and the BB swapped out for a new, shorter one and I can confirm that the chainline is spot on!

The new one is only around 3mm shorter in length but it has done the trick and I can comfortably sail through the gears without hitting the front derailleur, that is assuming I am not stupid and in the granny ring and smallest cog at the back or vice versa!

The guy at the LBS was good about it, I am good mates with him and I ended up spending from 13:00 to 17:30 (closing time) just sitting the back room chatting about all sorts whilst he fixed up mine and the other bikes that came and went through the day. If I go in there, I don't usually come out for a good few hours, no matter how tight for time I am
