Jeez, it's almost the 12th! Somehow it's almost been a month since I posted this thread! I'm still coming (despite my lack of training). :biggrin:

Weather is supposed to be cold but dry which is good so wrap up warm.

So far we've got:

jazloc
Rasmus
Harry_Palmer79
mr messy (how's the leg?)

@Inthecup, @phantasmagoriana, @Telemark - you coming?

Sorry @GBC, @Col5632 and @Edwardoka (I still haven't met you!) that you guys can't make it :sad:

Leg not a problem, got a spare........:biggrin::bicycle:

That's a nice route. I've only ever done it anti-clockwise but particularly between Claonaig and Campbeltown it's very nice.

(I will add that no route in Kintyre should be allowed to call itself "ultimate" if it doesn't feature the lighthouse road :whistle:)

Have a great ride everyone!

I'm afraid that you mis-overestimate me Ed, it's the 33 mile route I'm doing. Not that long, but enough hills to make your eyes water - even @Rasmus would need a runny at some of them. I did it a couple of years ago with Mrs GBC and our time was embarassing. This year I'm doing it with my son who's going to have a go at it on his fixie, and with quite a few of the gradients in the teens, I'm not anticipating a great improvement in the time. However, I do have the 70 mile Ultimate pencilled in for next year.

Easy enough to get down to the lighthouse by the way, but I'd need to be carried back up:surrender:

Ah, still looks like a great route, good luck to you both! :bicycle:

I was at the top of the lighthouse road a couple of years ago (by car) and when the question of "shall we go down" arose, the unanimous verdict was "stuff that"
The last time I was at the bottom I was 4 years old and actually had to be carried back up :laugh:

One for the bucket list :thumbsup:

You have met me (albeit briefly), I was at the Dunfermline ride :smile: (although given how busy that one was at the start, I'm not sure if I introduced myself...)

To be fair Jazloc lasted approx 7 minutes of that ride before bailing...:whistle:

I won't be on this one as I am already committed to the Border Raid ride on 26th so building brownie points up for that. Have a good ride though!

It sucks that you guys can't make it :sad:

I've lost track of who's coming so hopefully there will be a decent turnout on the day :tongue:

Jaz, I'm not sure if I'll be making this one now... I've not been feeling too well this week (haven't been on the bike at all) and I don't think it would be the most sensible thing for me to do. I'll see how I feel tomorrow night but I can't promise anything, sorry :sad:

:sad: Sorry to hear that @Harry_Palmer79

Not looking like it will be worthwhile now with only three people including myself going :/

Got a bit of the cold, so be slower than usual :laugh:
I'm at work all day tomorrow, post if the ride is canceled please @jazloc
And if it isn't, who's gonna guide me to the starting point from Glesga?
Or do I have to google map it? :unsure: :laugh: :hello:
