Looks a bit tough for a fixed wheel and we have relatives with us, so my grand rejoining of the CC massive will have to wait.

From the route ...

58.4 mi. +3543 ft. / -3546 ft.

... does this mean you will end up with your head hanging 3ft lower than normal after the ride?

Shame you can't make it... and unless its a 34x28 fixed then I'd be inclined to agree!

There's a few challenging bits in the route ;)

have fun!

Sorry but I'll need to be a maybe too as it's the last day of my holidays and the boss won't give me an all-day pass. Looks like it will be a morning out on my lonesome.

Never mind you can show off those new wheels some other time!

(Unless you can come along for part of the route and accidentally lose track of time

I rode the Saltire 200k Audax over the Rigg last Saturday and the surface is much better since the Tour of East Lothian earlier this year.

I'll come along - a ten o'clock start is very civilised indeed. Weather is looking better for Sunday. Windy, but at the moment going the right way.

I'll be on the train into Waverley at 0929 - that should just about give me enough time to ride out to Musselburgh, provided I don't get lost along the way.

After riding to Hampden and back last night, a little rain doesn't scare me anymore, so I'll definitely be there.

Good stuff Rasmus

It's about 5-6 miles from Waverley to Musselburgh harbour depending on the route you take... I'd probably go this way.
(You left your bike at Hampden?!?!
ohmy.gif
- I'd have been worried sick!)

There are advantages to riding a non-flashy hybrid. Besides, noone is going to nick a bike in that weather...

Thanks for the directions - see you on Sunday.

TBH I'm not sure I would have managed the route as I've not cycled more than 30 odd miles at once since April. Going to try 50 miles on Sunday to try to build up and see how it goes from there. Somehow this year has flown by and I've not cycled nearly as much as I wanted and hoped to. There's always next year and I've got my turbo for over winter to keep my legs spinning. If there are other rides a bit shorter then I'll try to pop along.
Hope you all have a great day though, take care on those roads
