I'm riding through from Leith so I might get overtaken by them on the way there

Let there be peloton...

At what size group do we need to notify the authorities? lol

With daughter departing at 0830 on Sunday for a year's study in Sweden, I'll need to be on hand (or tissue-in-hand) for Mrs Scoosh.

I will therefore not be attending this gentle pootle up the Rigg. :bicycle:

Enjoy the not-rain !

Och! well it's a good excuse!

Well if it permits, just say the word and a timely text message can be sent so you can make Ice Creams in Luca's - post Rigg! ;o

Looks like I should be able to make it too - seem to have built up enough brownie points but can't be too late getting back so depending where we stop I may have to leave a bit early and head back to Musselburgh on my own.

I managed the club's cafe run today without too much discomfort and should be fine for tomorrow

Good news on the ribs front

Wow that ride is quite a lot faster than the DCC site suggests the cafe run is i.e. 15mph! I'm hoping to try it at some point in the next few weeks.

I'm usually near the front but there a more relaxed pace towards the back. Only problem with being at the front, the fast group stops at the cafe in Dollar, I prefer the Loganlea (Forrestmill) the slower group stop there ;) I hope you make it over its a great ride

See you tomorrow

Well, I'm back home after a nice ride.

I had a phone conference at 12.00 so I thought I'd bash up to the top of the Rigg and do it there. Got to the cattle grid on the top at 11.57 - result. Did my quick call and phone SWMBO and waited .... a couple of unattached riders came past and after 15 mins I rode back to the steep bit but couldn't see anyone on the Hill at all. I decided that there must have been a group stop at Gifford and decided I better bash on.

Was greeted in Haddington by hailstones but got back to the car just after 2pm. Back at home in Fife just before 3.

The road surfaces after the turn at Whiteadder have been improved since the Tour of East Lothian in Feb and it was nice having a tailwind all the way up the Rigg.

See you on another ride guys.

Yeah, that was a great ride - really enjoyed it, even the battling the headwind bit on my way back from Haddington. Thanks again Dave.

Funniest thing though - really, would be the clipless moment at Pencaitland. Priceless.

Sleekitcollie and myself got back to Musselburgh around 3pm.

Good day out and fab route selected by Edindave, shame about the punctures for those involved, me again  , but a superb ride out and good to see some new faces.

Thanks folks for making it a great ride.

On the way back I had an 'IT moment' with the Garmin and ended up cutting the route short to 52mi... I knew something was wrong when I crossed back over the A1 again!

Here's the route on my Garmin anyway. New top speed for me 39.6mph wooohooo!

A great day out - truly enjoyable. I'm not going to complain about the navigational mishaps, dave - I was running on empty into the headwind at the end.

New pb on the max speed for me as well (66.1 kph - just above 41 mph).

I hope to see you all on the next ride...
